A 22-ounce Estwing, bought in 1989 and swung for about 32 years. Its owner did steel framing in Portland for around five years with a 28-ounce hammer, found it too heavy to swing all day, and came back to this one. The waffle face wore smooth about 20 years ago. The stain pattern came from leaving it under a metal grate in the rain while job hunting after the move to Portland. That hunt ended with starting a company. The crew runs framing nailers all day. The owner would still rather frame with this.

One of the crew has the exact same hammer. The rain stains are how they tell whose is whose.
