Fifty years of firewood permits in the box

This Homelite came with its paperwork: a stack of firewood-cutting permits showing it went out every year but one from 1970 through 2021. Its new owner bought it from a man who inherited it from his grandfather. An online reference points to 1968, but the original owner has died, so nobody can say for certain. It fires right up. It's heavy and rough to run, fine for firewood and not for days on end, and it was never built as a professional saw. Its new owner, who works on trees in Northern California, has already put it to work cutting firewood.
