The Sunday roast knife, never sharpened

Sunday night is roast night, and this Sears electric knife has carved every Sunday roast and every holiday turkey since its owner was old enough to hold it. Mom bought it new in 1965, fourteen years before that owner was born. It has never been sharpened. Two serrated blades sawing back and forth against each other hold up a long time, because the teeth do the cutting, not a fine edge. When commenters said a real knife would be kinder to the meat, the answer was no. It slices turkey breast across the grain just fine. It goes through bone like butter.
