    The Peak Tram opened May 28, 1888, as Asia's first funicular. A 2022 upgrade raised it from 120 to 210 riders a trip, on grades up to 48%.

    The last one built, a Velvet Red 300C, came off the line in Brampton, Ontario, on December 8, 2023.

    Dial 123 from a BT line and it still reads out the time every ten seconds. It turned 90 on July 24, 2026, and Alan Steadman has been the voice since 2016.
