A great-grandmother bought this sewing machine new in 1925, and when the post went up it was turning out masks. It's electric, from one of the first few years electric machines were sold. Speed comes from a knee lever instead of a foot pedal, and even while learning, its owner could run it as slowly as she liked. The power cord is from the days when buyers put their own plug on the end. Clamp-on attachments handle zigzag and buttonholes, and some made as late as the 1980s fit and work. Her grandmother moved it into a new table in the 70s. The table was mustard yellow. She painted it black.
